What's in the Demo
The demo is the game's first act: you respond to the Mayday call, land on Lou's Island, and find the place storm-damaged with Lou missing. Officially it includes exploring the island, fixing the community hub, Swirler collecting and crafting, seaplane flying with ring challenges, and full character customization.
Length, straight from the developers' demo FAQ: the speedrun path (repair Hefti's plane and fly on) is about 30 minutes; doing Granny's and Wilson's side quests and exploring brings it to roughly an hour — and completionist wandering stretches past two (hands-on reports). Completion Reward
Expanded-demo save compatibility: start a fresh save for the expanded demo. Older demo saves are not compatible with this expanded build. This is a demo-build compatibility rule, not confirmation that demo progress will transfer into the full game — full-game save transfer still has no official answer.
To qualify for the updated completion reward, finish the expanded content through Tangle Bloom and Norleaf, then submit the survey shown at the end. The announced reward contains an Art Postcard and the Cloud Pilot Skin. The delivery method and timing have not been confirmed, so do not assume either item appears immediately after the survey. Officially confirmed separately: Steam Cloud support has been (re)added (developer statement).
Before You Start a Fresh Save
- Keep your old demo save. The official notice says it is incompatible with the expanded build; it does not say you must delete it.
- Take screenshots of your quest progress, character appearance, and settings if you want a reference while restarting.
- Create a new save inside the game for the expanded demo. Screenshots and notes are references only and do not transfer progress.
Treasure Chests demo
The island map counts 12 chests on Lou's Island. Hands-on reports have documented four chest rewards so far:

Known demo bugs the developers have acknowledged include flickering lights, vanishing sea edges at screen borders, suction animation glitches, NPCs teleporting after dialogue, the occasional floating Granny, and custom planes turning black. The devs also confirmed the jump/control feel is already fixed for the release build (developer statement).

Demo Tips
- Don't rush the 30-minute main path — chests, beach-combing finds and respawning fruit trees reward exploration;
- Do Granny's Zanana Curry and Wilson's side quests — they're the devs' own recommendation for seeing the demo fully;
- Fruit trees respawn, so you can keep harvesting and selling for shellings;
- Fly the ring challenge on the Tangle Bloom route — and watch out for tornadoes over open water (official FAQ);
- Finish the demo to bank the exclusive-skin reward.

Does demo progress carry over to the full game?

Is the demo on PS5 or Switch?
