The Core Loop

Lou's Lagoon runs on a simple, satisfying rhythm:

  1. Scoop — vacuum up scrap, native plants and wildlife materials with the Swirler 2000;
  2. Build & repair — turn materials into building repairs, crafted goods and community projects;
  3. Unlock — finished repairs open shops, quests and new gear (Jane's Lab sells upgrades);
  4. Fly — take the seaplane to the next island and repeat, following Uncle Lou's trail.

Progress gates are material-driven, so efficient scooping is effectively your XP. The Swirler's four official abilities — scoop, build, glide and fish — expand through gadget upgrades.

What to Do First on Lou's Island

  1. Finish the tutorial quests — they teach movement (jump, high-jump, vine climbing, swimming) and the Swirler basics;
  2. Repair the community hub — the demo's first milestone and the template for every island's rebuild loop;
  3. Hunt treasure chests — the island map counts 12; verified finds so far include clothing, an extra inventory slot and shellings (demo); the inventory slot is the priority;
  4. Harvest respawning fruit trees — a repeatable early source of shellings;
  5. Fly the ring challenges — flight practice plus rewards, before you need the plane for real travel.
